NEW REGIONAL HELP LINE We have received a letter from the Mayor’s Office, acknowledging and thanking everyone for all they are doing at this time.
Most importantly, it tells us of the launch of a crucial & new source of support for those who need it. Yes, that includes you!
A new regional help line has been set up by the Hawke’s Bay Civil Defence Emergency Management Group.
The Hawke’s Bay Welfare Help Line number is 0800 422 923.
If you or someone you know is in urgent need of support, or is vulnerable, please ring this number.
Age Concern Hastings, Napier and Havelock North are working with Civil Defence, and are asking folks in need to ring the above number.
Re-reading the Mayor’s letter reminds me that it’s okay to ask for help. We are physically isolated but we need not be socially isolated. I’m aware that many within the parish are using the phone to connect with one another on a regular basis and others are making the most of email and Facebook. This is good. We need one another.
With blessings and care,Alister – your parish priest.
