From Alister your Parish Priest

Greetings

We are returning to Level 2. Most of us knew this was probable, and as a parish we are well equipped for this move. As in the months past we are fortunate to have wise and supportive leadership in the diocese that has resourced us well for this dynamic. For the present it’s a matter of seeing how things turn out. In the meantime, we wish to make our parish gatherings as safe as possible.

This Sunday there will be no 8.00am Eucharist, though there will be a 10am Eucharist. As before, there will be some changes to how we are at that service.

·         We receive communion in one kind, that is, bread only.

·         We don’t share the peace with handshakes or hugs.

·         We maintain physical distancing of at least 1 meter in all situations outside the home, maintaining 2 meters distance from people that we don’t know or can’t be contact traced.

·         We support potential contact tracing.

·         We wash our hands frequently with soap and water.

·         If we aren’t at all well, we stay at home.

I have the remnant of a cold so I’m keeping away this Sunday. I will however, thanks to modern technology, be preaching. And we are, as we have been doing since the end of March, offering a video of the sermon and a simple worship resource by email and on the parish website:

The parish office remains open and I can be contacted via email or phone alister.hendery@waiapu.com

So, remember to wash your hands, keep a safe distance, maintain personal hygiene, and be kind with one another.

In darkness and in light,
in trouble and in joy,
help us, heavenly Father,
to trust your love,
to serve your purpose,
and to praise your name,
through Jesus Christ our Lord.   Amen.
